Desborough Town have been again drawn against Peterborough United

This time its the maunsell cup semi-finals, the game will take place Monday 13th September 2004 at the Waterworks Field, kick off 7.45pm.

 

Desborough 2-1 Buckingham

Desborough Town won their first league game against last years league runners up Buckingham 2-1. Desborough went 1-0 up within 3 minutes with a goal from new signing Matt Curtis the lead lasted about an hour when Lance Gentle-King hit the equaliser,Desborough regained the lead in the 66th minute with a goal from George Donnelly. Desborough still put pressure on Buckingham's defence when hitting the bar and the post on several occasions, but just couldnt hit the back of the net.

2/2 For the Boys in Blue

A 40th Minute goal from George Donnelly put artarn ahead,I.Giles was sent off to put Ford Sports down to 10 men in the 55th minute. Then a unfortunate clip  to the ankle of a Ford Sports player from Glyn Davies gave an unwated penalty away which equalled the score after 58 minutes. Artarn got another from centre forward George Donnelly which pulls his tally to 3 for Artarn in two games, Jimmy Simpson killed the game off in the 85th minute when he hit a rocket into the top left hand corner out of reach of the keeper.So Artarn welcome newly promoted Potton Town to the Waterworks Field this Saturday.

Desborough Town 2-1 Potton United

A handball from S.Munton earned him his first yellow card and 10 minutes later a second harsh yellow card put Artarn down to 10 men. Michael Coles just 5 minutes later put Desborough 1-0 up after the goalkeeper dropped the ball, but a defensive mistake by Desborough which was capitalised by Potton centre Foward Brett Donnelly equalles the scorline with 32 minutes played. The hands of Deborough Town goalkeeper Gary Munton kept Desborough in the game. All the hard work from 10 men Desborough shown when Andy Greensmith finnished off the game in the 75th minute to make it 3/3 for Artarn. Desborough will go inseek of another win when they play Daventry away this Tuesday.
